Yes I think George did make the right decision to kill Lennie for many reasons, for instance in the story George killed the wife on the ranch, George did not want Lennie to hurt anyone else, and George wanted to shoot lennie and Curley. In the story george said “but listen Curley… don't shoot him he didn't know what he was doin” George said this cause he did not want Curley to shoot him George wanted to.
