To what extent did Canada help the allies achieve victory during the Second World War?

Canada entered the Second World War as a reinforcement for the British Expeditionary Forces, serving the Allies on a war set on Europe to finish with mainly the totalitarian destruction. This time, Canada made their own decision; now, the new independent country should go to war. However, it took nine days to make a move and on September 10th 1939, Canada was in warfare. Leaving a blurred line between soldier and citizen, the country was brave enough to deal with terrible losses but also made a huge and important governmental decision as independent country. “The Battle of the Atlantic was the dominating factor all through the war” (http://www.navy.gov.au/). Canada was a great supporter for the forces and contributed with them. On top of that, the nation had a vital role in the Battle of Atlantic; with the creation of “corvettes”, small ships to escort convoys across the ocean and by that the Allies thought they had won the war in May, 1943.
