“Why do bad things always happen to good people?” Often times when dealing with hardships, that is the common question. It can be so easy to ask that question when you are placed in a time of difficulty. Often times only negative things come to mind when we should be focusing on the positive. Although, considering the essay written by Leonard Pitts, positivity seems to become more and more distant. Consider the whole picture when questioning why bad things always happen to good people.
When it comes to considering the bad, realize that things could always be worse. We all know that there are some extreme cases in which viewing the good seems to almost be impossible. But instead, we need to realize that whatever we may be going through may seem drastic only to us. There are others who are facing their own tribulations in which they are drowning in life as well. Leonard states, “We are hamstrung by our own limitations, so we can only do what we always do, only send prayers and help” (Pitts). We need to realize we were sent to this earth for a purpose, and we are here to determine the outcome of each decision we make. When it comes to dealing with trials, we need to push through them and allow ourselves to accept the events in which are taking place.
