“From ancient grudge break to mutiny, where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.” A drama known as The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. Throughout the entire play characters are responsible are responsible for the tragedy and they are Romeo, Juliet, and Friar Laurence. Throughout the entire play a certain character is partly a certain character is partly responsible for the tragedy, and it's Romeo. Romeo is part of the Montague family, and a heir of the Montague family. According to Act 1 Scene 1,” Romeo, lovesick and miserable, can talk of nothing but his love for Rosaline and her cruelty in refusing to love him back.” Romeo is in love with Rosaline, but hasn't yet met Juliet, who he later marries. Romeo uninvited goes to a ball where he later meets Juliet. Juliet is a part of the Capulet family and is a young girl about 14 years old. Juliet not only is responsible of the tragedy, but she leads herself to her own death and others. Capulet and Lady Capulet are trying to get Juliet to marry Paris; who wants to marry Juliet. Her mother Lady Capulet ask her,” How stands your disposition to be married?”(Act 1 Scene 3). She is basically trying to ask her daughter, Juliet, when she plans on getting married. According to Act 1 Scene 2 Juliet states,” It is an honor that I dream not of.” Meaning she doesn't at the moment plan on getting married. But she later, not long after meets Romeo, a Montague and marries him. The drama goes on and they both die,making them both responsible for their own death and the tragedy.
