Our group for the world cafe project consisted of Kip, Ashley and Martell. We came up with the following question to ask the people who attended the World Cafe: Given the recent proposed travel ban, how would this impact American citizens for better or for worse? This question is relevant to almost everyone within the united states, maybe not directly but, there is a reaching effect on all of us. Given the countries who are listed within the travel ban, it appears to be largely targeted towards the muslim people, some of whom may currently be us citizens, if they have family and friends in these regions, they will be impacted by the travel ban. The travel ban goes against what I believe makes us a great nation, the people of the US are a fusion of various races, cultures and religions throughout all parts of the world. There isn’t any one race, religion or culture that makes someone more “American” than someone else. We each invited some personal friends and family along with some signs posted on the day of our event. Our Cafe was at 6pm on Tuesday, March 28th and we provided a party sub with chips and beverages for those who attended the Cafe. We started off by eating and keeping it informal as we waited for others who were still on their way. This informal start gave everyone the opportunity to start talking, there was a lot of small talk and mingling taking place as we ate. We created a welcoming atmosphere which included some music playing in the background, welcoming small groups of tables with center pieces and flowers.
