A Christmas Carol, a novella was written by Charles Dickens in December 1843 was written about an old businessman called “Ebenezer Scrooge”, who was a stingy and cold-hearted person with a very bad attitude who made people disliked him and was scared to do things or have fun in front of him. He was visited by Marley Jacob, his only friend and business partner to convinced him to change his attitude otherwise he would suffer as Marley did, and was visited by three Christmas ghosts. Those ghosts were the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Future. The Ghost of Christmas Future was going to demonstrate how people would feel for him, money couldn’t solve every problem or buy everything at the wrong time, and the ghost wanted Scrooge to change his attitude. To show Scrooge how others would feel for him, the Ghost of Christmas Future brought him to the time when he was dead and saw a few old people were standing and talking bad words about him and his money, which he didn’t wanted to spend in life time and couldn’t take them with him when he passed away. He was showed that his money couldn’t do everything, he couldn’t change the others mind with his money when he was dead, and was pay back with hates and bad words of him. Plus, he had been to Bob’s house and found out that Timmy Tim would die because Bob didn’t have enough money for his son’s treatments. Although Scrooge was wealthy, and pity Tinny Tim, he still couldn’t take money to exchange the little boy’s life back. Last but not least, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come tried to change the old selfish man by threatened him. He was taken to a graveyard, he saw a grave with his name and date of dead was on 25th December, Christmas Day. Scrooge was afraid that would die and became a miserable ghost like his friend, Marley, and was sad to see Tinny Tim dead. So, Scrooge decided to change, in the end of the novella Scrooge turned out to become a person who enjoyed Christmas as he was before. In conclusion, every ghost has affected Scrooge in different ways to change his behavior even though the Ghost of Christmas Future is the most influence one on him.
