English Mini Essay Lady Macbeth is represented as a evil character in the play. But there is evidence in the paly that shows she is also multi-faceted. Her desire and thirst for power, led her to show how powerful she was. As a result this made her look evil. But later on she weakness which led to her untimely death. At the beginning of the play Lady Macbeth is shown as a loving wife. As she reads her husbands letters she says stuff like “worth Cawdor “. She waits for her husbands anticipated arrival. From the minute Macbeth returned, she starts perusing her husband. At this point she shows her evil side. She conspires with her husband to murder King Duncan. At this preposition Macbeth disagrees, but his Lady Macbeth has other plans. She decides to use manipulation and pitty. She begins by saying “Has the hope slept? And has woken, to look green and pale.” Lady Macbeth tries to make her husband feel bad by using manipulation. This shows one of her multi-faceted sides. Lady Macbeth realises that Macbeth still isn’t interested in committing the murder, so she attacks his courage as a male. She says “What made you change your mind? This shows her as mulitfacted as she even dances with King Duncan. She drugs King Duncans servants but does not kill King Duncan. Lady Macbeth blames the fact that he resembles his father. This side shows another side of Lady Macbeth. Here she is more considerate and caring. She shows a softer side. But this all shifts when Macbeth murders King Duncan. She tells Macbeth to calm down, and shows a more powerful side. She shows she has power, and is the evil creature by showing no remorse. Unlike the witches Lady Macbeth shows remorse later on.
