Taking a trip to the American Museum of Natural History was a great learning experience. Not only did I learn a ton about the human body and the plethora of microbes that call our bodies’ home, but also had a lot of fun. The museum is full of wonderful knowledge, and cool exhibits. Me and my friends must were astonished, the vast amount of different things to look at was like a dictionary of information. I was so interested in the museum that I unfortunately missed my “reserved” time into the exhibit and was unable to enter. However I remained persistent and returned by myself to the museum about a week later. Different parts of your body contain different microbes. People in different parts of the world have different microbes and even your lifestyle can affect what types of microbes your body contains. For example different pets deliver a large diversity of different bacteria. These microbes can be so different even though they are very close to each other, like the teeth, different microbes live under the gums and others prefer the sides of the teeth. Different kinds of bacteria live in different parts of even your hand, the lines in your hand tend to be a lot moister then the flat planes in your hand and provide a great ecosystem for those bacteria who enjoy it Think of all the different biomes on your body, think of yourself as an ecosystem, you have wet, swampy parts, dry arid parts, and forests of hair that contain many different species. Often these parts of your body come in contact with other parts of your own or even other people. For example sports players must be very aware of their cleanliness because the amount of physical contact that happens.
