The weed eater a bad person that is always high he smoked so much wee it does not even affect him so he began chewing it. The weed eater is starting to realize that he isn’t that decent of a person and he wants to change. When he first looked at the gunslinger he pulled out his knife and snuck up on him but the gunslinger just said two words “ sit down”. The weed eater is giving up weed because he cannot even be a normal person he wets himself and passes out every night. After a couple of days, when the help arrived in the cabin, the found two women huddled together, frozen to death, and close by Oakhurst was found with a gun near him, a bullet right through his heart, and a suicide note saying “Beneath this tree, Lies the body of John Oakhurst, who struck a streak of bad luck on the twenty third of November, 1850, and handed in his checks on the seventh of December, 1850.” (Harte 458). This story shows that people can change their life when they want to, and that anyone can develop feeling despite whatever they did before.
Western movies have always been attempted and have strived for perfection. There has been a few that really captured the motion picture, history, and of course the actual story itself; but of course only one can take the cake. The movie, Tombstone is an action-filled film that is sure to entertain no matter what audience. Based on true events, the movie does an excellent job of portraying the correct history about the events that went on in Tombstone, Arizona. Everything from wardrobe, slang, props, and much more that was displayed in this outstanding movie couldn’t have hit the nail on the head any better. The plot of this movie is about the struggle between the farmers and the cowboys. The farmers all want to start up crops, but the cowboys want to run their cattle through the open space so they can feed. Obviously, the two sides don’t agree. The cowboys end up attempting to use strong-arm tactics to get their way. They even try to scare the farmers off the land by burning down one of the homes of the farmers. Eventually, Shane, a former gunfight, realizes what he must do. He rides into town and kills all of the cowboys, including Wilson, the hired gun.

Monsanto was not known as an agriculture company at first as it is now rather a chemical company of the 20th century. They are also responsible for growing 90 percent of the world 's GMO’s. On Monsanto’s website it states their goal is to help farmers around the world to produce healthier foods, conserving more, and better animal feeds while reducing impact on our environment. Somewhere out in the Old West wind kicks up dust off a lone road through a lawless town, a road once dominated by men with gun belts attached at the hip, boots upon their feet and spurs that clanged as they traversed the dusty road. The gunslinger hero, a man with a violent past and present, a man who eventually would succumb to the progress of the frontier, he is the embodiment of the values of freedom and the land the he defends with his gun. Inseparable is the iconography of the West in the imagination of Americans, the figure of the gunslinger is part of this iconography, his law was through the gun and his boots with spurs signaled his arrival, commanding order by way of violent intentions. The Western also had other iconic figures that populated the Old West, the lawman, in contrast to the gunslinger, had a different weapon to yield, the law. In the frontier, his belief in law and order as well as knowledge and education, brought civility to the untamed frontier. The Western was and still is the “essential American film genre, the cornerstone of American identity.” (Holtz p. 111) There is a strong link between America’s past and the Western film genre, documenting and reflecting the nations changes through conflict in the construction of an expanding nation. Taking the genres classical conventions, such as the gunslinger, and interpret them into the ideology of America. Ever since I was a little kid I loved the performing arts and I never thought that I would eventually fall in love with science . After an intense and challenging year of Chemistry my sophomore year, I was hesitant and nervous in signing up for my junior year science class. Toward the end of my sophomore year my chemistry teacher, Mr. Bowditch, told me he thought I would do well in Advanced Placement Environmental Science. I was in a state of disbelief because I was struggling trying to get a C in Chemistry and I was thinking how was I supposed to take AP Environmental Science class. After a conversation with my parents, they had persuaded me to sign up and we agreed if i didn't like it or it was too hard I would be able to drop the class.
Strange things began to happen the next couple days. First, Joey was in the living room of Grandma’s house making a jig saw puzzle. He heard the sound of a horses hooves walking slowly on the street then the sound stopped in front of the house and heard someone put something in Grandma’s mail box. One of my favorite places on campus is Cool Beans, and not just because they have good drinks, smoothies, and food. In fact, my favorite thing about Cool Beans is the ambiance. There are plenty of cafes and stores around campus that are comparable, food-wise, to Cool Beans, but none of them give off the same vibe as Cool Beans. They do not have the same colorful walls, the variety of art and paintings, the borderline messy layout, the quirky design, and the music-- all the reasons why Cool Beans is my favorite. And whenever I go to Cool Beans, I actively pay attention to at least some of the songs they play, as their playlist is very eclectic, indie, and fun-- just like the rest of the store. When I went there most recently, I noticed that not too many people seemed to be paying close attention to the music, but I often found myself humming and singing along. Few Hollywood film makers have captured America’s Wild West history as depicted in the movies, Rio Bravo and El Dorado. Most Western movies had fairly simple but very similar plots, including personal conflicts, land rights, crimes and of course, failed romances that typically led to drinking more alcoholic beverages than could respectfully be consumed by any one person, as they attempted to drown their sorrows away. The 1958 Rio Bravo and 1967 El Dorado Western movies directed by Howard Hawks, and starring John Wayne have a similar theme and plot. They tell the story of a sheriff and three of his deputies, as they stand alone against adversity in the name of the law. Western movies like these two have forever left a memorable and lasting impressions in the memory of every viewer, with its gunfighters, action filled saloons and sardonic showdowns all in the name of masculinity, revenge and unlawful aggressive behavior. Featuring some of the most famous backdrops in the world ranging from the rustic Red Rock Mountains of Monument Valley in Utah, to the jagged snow capped Mountain tops of the Teton Range in Wyoming, gun-slinging cowboys out in search of mischief and most often at their own misfortune traveled far and wide, seeking one dangerous encounter after another, and unfortunately, ending in their own demise.
One foreshadow that the book had was when Alex (Chris) declined offers for much needed supplies. Jim Gallien noticed that Alex did not possess enough supplies to survive in the wild for months. This was a very clear clue that he wouldn’t be able to outlast. Another foreshadow is when he left his journal and photo album to Wayne Westerberg for safekeeping. This action provides a clue that he might never come back after his trip. Lastly, Chris was sending postcards to his friends, as if he knew that he was never going to make it out alive. Have you ever wished that someone would go away or were dead? That everything would be fixed if this one person would just go away. You wouldn’t have to deal with anymore of their issues. The neighbors of Mrs. Turner know this wish very well, as they deal with Mrs. Turner everyday. The first page of the story “Mrs. Turner Cutting the Grass,” by Carol Shields, represents Mrs. Turner as a social outcast compared to her neighbors as she is alone and spends her days outside cutting grass and killing the plants with chemical killer. She doesn’t care about her looks and what others think of her. The Saschers are waiting for her to pass away or to be moved into an old folks’ home as they are judgemental towards Mrs. Turner and her daily activities.
The issue of our watersheds is that there is too much waste such as plastics polluting the water which affects our watersheds. A solution to this problem is to implement more recycling bins and put out more awareness signs beginning at our school. The amount of water that is potable and useful to humans as well as animals, is only 2.5%. If we do not do anything about our watershed, the amount of useful water would only decrease.
No one person or corporation is attributed with creating the lawn trimmer however the original lawn trimmers where developed from1968 to 1970. Prior to 1970, there were no line trimmers, as we know them today. Can you imagine edging sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and shrub beds with hand-held trimmers? Can you imagine how sore your back, arms and legs would be after a long day of pushing a manual edger along seemingly endless sidewalks and driveways? Can you imagine trimming any turf at all without a powered trimmer? Many of us take the advantages the line trimmer gives us for granted.
