It is an act of deviating from what is expected of you especially from being obedient. In addition, lacking all the good qualities that make one has morals or respect. It comes from different angles of life, and can affect a child’s sense of reasoning. It can result from the effect of parenting or peer pressure. Peer pressure can be seen as an influence by peer of the same age group, either positively or negatively. Parents love and trust their children, but in some situations they trust them too much. They assume with the training they brought up their children, they can never go the wrong path. They think they don’t have to upset their selves by creating boundaries, so they allow their children to do as it pleases them. Michael Pearl alleged “if children came into the world with a disciplined mind and willing to deny every negative act, that is when parents don’t need boundaries”. Parents know better in situations like this and yet ignore. All children come into the world innocent but at one time they all fall. Character and self-respect is something children are not born with, it develops. It is not expected of a child to possess all these qualities if he is not brought up properly. A good example of an indirect peer influence comes from a child doing on his own what he feel is right just to fit in. Imagine situations where a teen that comes from a less financial background hangs out with people that are from high backgrounds. If the child falls in love with the way they dress or do all sort of activities the rich do, they will engage their selves in all sort of activities to match up to these group of friends.
