Some believe that Napoleon is a selfish tyrant but really, he is a hero to many people of his country. Napoleon has helped his own people and brought peace back to France. He was known for his knowledge and respected everyone’s customs. There is also a painting of Napoleon riding a horse to show he was very heroic. If Napoleon was to be a tyrant, he would not have done so much for his empire. There is a question that people wonder about if they should be strongly attached to the tough Napoleon. The answer to that is yes because he had restored the order of the public with all his wisdom. It states in document eight, “he defends the state by his powerful arm.” Meaning, he is protecting his people with his military. If Napoleon was a tyrant, he wouldn’t put any effort into securing the French public. By reestablishing the order again, the people of France could gain more trust in their leader. Another great thing that Napoleon had done was allow the Catholic and Roman religion to be expressed. Document 12 states that the religion could be “freely and publicly done in France.” This would have made the public satisfied. …show more content…

These laws stated how every Frenchman could own and appreciate the civil rights. This allowed the people of France to have property and liberty. Napoleon had mentioned how his people are the friends to all. Document three B states how he tells how everyone’s customs and religion will be respected and the tyrants that enslave them will be destroyed. This would be considered a heroic action because Napoleon is allowing the people to participate and keep their own customs. Their religion would not be messed with or removed/banned
