Disney World is famous for its exhilarating rides, fairy-tale performances, and the adolescent environment that can make you disregard the element that you are an adult. However, Disney World is also recognized for its beautiful, unique architect. From Magic Kingdom’s most well known icon the Cinderella Castle, to another famous emblem of Epcot’s, which is an eighteen-story golf ball-like geodesic sphere. Although those icons are beautiful and legendary I feel that people tend to forget the magnificent Animal Kingdoms Tree of Life. Animal kingdom is one of Disney’s parks that is devoted to animal care, education, and research all for the animals. “Once upon a time, no vegetation would grow on Discovery Island. There were no trees, no shrubs, no flowers, nothing. It was a barren piece of land. Then, one day, a tiny ant planted a seed and made a wish. He asked for a tree to grow -- a tree large enough to provide shelter for all the animals. Magically, the ant's wish came true and a tree began to grow -- and it kept growing until there was room beneath its limbs for all the animals from A (ants) to Z (zebras). And as the tree continued to reach for the heavens, the images of all the animals that took shelter beneath its shade appeared on its trunk, roots, and branches.” Fun fact also about the tree of life, this was not actually the first idea that the Disney imagineers had come up with. The first idea was a basic fifty-foot tree that was going to proceed as a playground for the children. As the Tree of Life concept began to grow and grow so did the imagineers minds. Imagineers wanted to put a theatrical show or restaurant under the tree but could not figure out the structure for this until later on. That is when the beginning of the movie “Bugs Life” was about to be sprung into another one of Disney’s hit movies. There is also to this day a little eight-minute show called “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” beneath the tree to demonstrate how although bugs may be scary, annoying, and sometimes smelly they are a very important part of our
