Values and Morality in Literary Works

My theme that I have found in every short story, poem, play and many other works was values or morality. At first I didn't realize that there was anything but love in all the works. Without the help of Mr. Johnson, I would have never thought that there was anything but love in most of the works. As I read the works again I realized that there was more in the works besides love. I found out that there were morals and values but I didn't notice it because of the fact that I didn't think of them as morals but as society's standards. In my case there are a lot of morals I follow that many people don't think of morals. Don't get me wrong, I am not an angel, I am far away from it. I think that societies morals are the ones that many people follow but that doesn't make it necessarily right. Honestly in my own opinion I think every person has his or her own morals and it is different in every person. The basic morals that we think aren't morals at but social rules. Murder is a moral that most people take advantage of, majority think that it is obvious that you just don't do it but what about the people that do it anyway. I think murdering animals are fine with me because they aren't human. I am only talking about the animals that we eat in USA and no where else because in other countries they eat domestic pets. What decides who are the killers and who aren't? Many people realize that many short stories are fiction because it is very hard to believe. How do we know that they are actually fiction and not non-fiction? My meaning of fiction is things that are not real or made up from imagination. Many people may have different aspects of fiction because everyone has a different...

Before many can know something, one must know it!" This shows that the majority is not always right and one man can show the majority the right thing. Also, before many can know something, one person must know it first and tell and explain it to this majority.

My conclusion to my theme is Morality, love, reality and lose is all connected together. Each theme may at first sound different but once you think and listen to all of them they are all similar in many ways. I also think that many of the themes that were said in class tells about the persons personality and what they think about. This is why we are asked about them by many times in class…so we can explain and open up in class.
