How do you market violence? Can the general public be persuaded to look at unarmed combat as a legitimate sport? Through the course of the paper, I will discuss all the aspects of the marketing mix, and how they are utilized by the mixed martial arts promotion The Ultimate Fighting Championship. I will also discuss the effect of their current marketing stratagem, and the impact to their booming business. Marketing is a process of determining a consumer’s needs, devising a product or service to satisfy those needs, and trying to focus customers on the goods and services you are offering. Marketing is extremely important, and a fundamental building block for business growth. A marketing team is given the task of creating customer awareness through a variety of different marketing techniques. If a business does not pay close attention to their consumer demographic and needs, they will eventually fail over time. Two important aspects of marketing include acquiring new customers, and the preservation and growth of relationships with current customers. Marketing has always been viewed as a creative outlet, which encompassed advertising, distribution, and the selling of goods and services. Marketing staff will also try to anticipate what customers will want in the future, often being accomplished with market research. In summation, a good marketing plan should be able to create a favorable proposition or series of benefits that a customer can value through goods or services. The marketing mix is normally described as the strategic positioning of a product or service in the marketplace, using the specification of the four Ps. During the early 1960’s, Professor E. Jerome McCarthy of Harvard Business School stated that a marketing mix contains four elements. The four key points are product, pricing, promotion, and placement. It is recognized that all these aspects must be present to ensure a successful business model within a given industry. We will now take a thorough look at the four marketing mix points. First we will discuss product. Within marketing terms, the product can be defined as a good or service that is provided for consumption or use by a customer. An easy example of a service product is hotel customer service. Another example of a product service can be the omnipresent use of cell phones, pertaining to their service providers. Product goods are easy to define, with footwear manufactured by Nike, or soft drinks such as Coca Cola.
Recently in the United States there has been in increase in deaths that have come from police officers using deadly force. The use of force is inevitable as a police officer, many times their own lives or the life’s civilians are at risk when it comes to determine what type of force a officer should use. There are many incidents where police officer have to react in a matter of seconds and has to choose between his own life or that of the individual causing the disturbance. When a Police Officer uses deadly force has caused outraged with the public, stirring up protests and creating a scandal for the police officer and the Police Department. Many do not know when it is right for an officer to use deadly force and what constitutes it, or what happens when the officer does not use the appropriate amount of force that is required to control the situation. There has been many changes in Police Departments around the country to try to reduce the use of deadly force in response to the issues that have occurred because of it.
When a business aims to be as successful as possible in selling its products and services, it must examine in detail whether or not the products will be attractive and necessary; if the price is optimal; if the product is being distributed in the best locations; and finally, how interest and awareness can be created for the products. In order for a business to target all of these elements at the right people at the right time, it must employ the right type of marketing mix: Product, Price, Place and Promotion.
The marketing mix, which is basic to any organization, can be considered the ‘controllable’ variables that every business encounters. These controllable variables can be modified based on the uncontrollable variables (external factors found in Environmental Scan) that directly affect business operations. A company focuses on four elements in the marketing mix: Product, Price, Place, and Promotion, which are managed and coordinated through marketing programs in efforts to appeal to their target market. Marketers strive to understand what motivates consumers to purchase certain products. The marketing mix helps to break down some of these questions: What will consumers buy? How much will they spend? Where will they buy? And will they buy again?
As time goes on, the police have been one of the major issues in many countries. It should be stated that everyday American police officers face violent criminals and possible death. Between 1980 and 1989, there were 1,514 police officers killed in the line of duty. Despite the danger, the police force show amazing restraint.
The marketing mix refers to the set of actions, or tactics, that a company uses to promote its brand of products in the market. Price, Product, Promotion and Place, are known as the 4Ps that make up a typical marketing mix. As marketing evolves, there are additional Ps that can also be included in the marketing mix, however, focusing on the 4 core Ps of the marketing mix, price, place, promotion and Product, taking an in-depth look at the aspects of Victoria’s Secret in general and in terms of the selected product. All the elements of the marketing mix influence each other. They contribute to the business plan for a company and if managed correctly, can give it a great success. In order to successfully master marketing mix, it needs understanding,
Law enforcement agencies across the nation engage in high-speed vehicle pursuits daily, which often result in property damage, serious injuries and even death. Approximately 1 out of every 100 pursuits ends death, with approximately 42 percent of the deceased being innocent bystanders (Hill, 2002). Police pursuits that end in death, injury, or even property damage impact the lives of many. When a pursuit ends in death or injury to an innocent party, this can cause drastic changes in the family and friends of not only the suspect involved, but also the innocent bystander or officer that was injured or even possibly killed (Schultz, Hudak & Alpert, 2010). This has caused concern among the public, but should also concern law enforcement
The marketing mix is composed of four key elements to execute or examine for marketing campaigns. The chief goal of the marketing committee is to optimize the marketing mix. Marketers can enhance their outcomes and marketing value by implementing the right combination of the four P’s. Discrete alterations made to the marketing mix are looked at as tactical changes, while rendering huge changes to it can be considered strategic. The “Four P’s” of marketing are: product, price, placement, and promotion.
A marketer doesn’t just have a plan. Marketers now open up to a wider strategic plan and it’s based on steps that balance out what the market is offering consumers. These marketers must analyze their production with these steps, then make a portfolio of the growth and even their down falls therefore this keeps these marketers to continuously innovate and create even a greater amount of value for their customers. Marketing management functions are discussed along with the marketing mix and strategy.

The marketing mix helps a company define the marketing elements for successfully positioning a market offer. The four P’s model, one of the best-known models, helps a company define its product marketing options in terms, place, price and promotion (MindTools.com, 2010). To enhance their impact with their target market, companies often use this model when you are planning a new venture, or evaluating an existing offer. As companies start out in an industry, many marketers learn about putting the right product in the right place, at the right price, at the right t...
Due to the availability of news and media in today’s technologically advanced society, many people are aware of the violent acts that are committed every day all throughout the world. In addition, the technological advances of today’s society have continued to fuel one of the most successful industries of the present day: the video game industry. Many people have been eager to blame the video game industry for the violent acts that are committed throughout the world because the video game industry has continued to target an audience that seemingly craves an increasing amount of violence, and they criticize the video game industry for its complete lack of restrictions on the sale of violent video games to teenagers. However, although some experts believe that playing violent video games may perpetuate a violent disposition in a teenager, it has been demonstrated that
In all reality, all businesses will, in some way shape or form, complete all of the marketing activities, even if completing these activities is not their main goal. (Dlabay 2006.) These marketing activities are product, place, price, and promotion. A business tool called that marketing mix takes all of these activities and puts them together in a way that can be used to help improve a business’s marketing strategy. Product is what the company is selling; Place is where the consumer will obtain this product; Price is what the consumer will pay for the product; Promotion is any type of communication that is intended to remind, inform, or persuade. (Dlabay 2006.) The marketing mix and the four P’s describe very well what business marketing is all about.
A good definition of marketing is the process of the intermediary function between product development and sales. (Reddy ) The field of marketing entails taking a generic product or generic service (the product or services do not have to be “generic” they may be actually unique to the marketplace) and associating the generic product with a brand name (Petty 2001). Under this generic concept are the activities of advertising, public relations, media planning, sales strategy and so on.
I took a great deal of time to conduct research and to think about issues that I feel need to be addressed despite the countless that can be discussed. There are numerous issues within the field of Criminal Justice, but I've been extremely intrigued by the problems that continue to be at the forefront of the news. There two issues with the Criminal Justice field that I want to place great emphasis on these matters. The first problem the I perceive as a significant issue that exists is the considerable disparity between instances of fatalities involving officers opposed to that of an individual not connected to law enforcement. The manner in which casualties are handled by an individual who has no ties to law enforcement is hugely different.
The development of marketing strategy first begins with what type of product or services the organization is going to provide the public. After realizing what type of products or services will be provided it is then followed by creating a marketing mix. Marketing mix in short is putting the right product, at the right place, at the right price, at the right time. The elements of marketing mix consist of ideas and plans to promote the products or services the organizations are planning to market. At times the marketing mix and the four P’s are the same however, they are not exactly the same thing (Mind Tools, 2014). Marketing mix describes the choices an organization has to make to bring the product or services to the market. On the other hand the four P’s is part of the marketing mix. It consist of product (or services), place, price, and promotion. The marketing matrix helps target the audience the organization wants to target that needs a specific product or service.
