Many factors will go into purchasing your motor home. The decision to purchase new or used will be determined by factors such as personal preference, financial ability and such. When deciding to purchase a used motor home, there is the question of where to purchase your used motor home from. The decision to purchase a used motor home from either a private seller or a used motor home dealer should be done after you weight the risks and benefits of both types of transactions. You will have to decide in the end what is best for you. Within this section, I will give you what you need to help make that decision easier for you by outlining the pros and cons of both.

When it comes to price, you can sometimes find yourself able to purchase a used motor home cheaper from a private seller than from a used motor home dealer. A private seller does not have the overhead that a dealership has therefore they can sell you the motor home at a cheaper price. Also more than likely the private seller is just selling a motor home that they no longer need.

At the same time, though a dealership is in the business to make money and thus they need to move merchandise of the lot. This can sometimes get you a deal on the pricing that you may not be able to get with a private seller that wants to get their money back out of their investment into their motor home.

With a private seller, you have the one motor home that they are selling to look at. This keeps your choices limited when choosing a motor home to purchase. With a dealership, on the other hand you have several manufactures, models and floor plans to look at. Your choices are broader depending on the size of the dealership that you go to. Class D fire extinguishers are the ones that are used to put fires out that started or have moved to flammable metals.

The good news here though is that you can get a fire extinguisher that is multi class rated so that it will work on different fire sources. These multi class fire extinguishers are usually AB, BC or ABC multi class rated. It is ruled by the National Fire Protection Agency that you carry a BC fire extinguisher near the exit of your motor home. This is not the only one you need though because many fires in a motor home actually result from combustibles such as paper. This means you need to have a class A fire extinguisher or a multi class fire extinguisher that has the class A rating as well.
