They used the urban academic village evaluation plan. This initiative is highly effective in the students learning. It involves creating suitable communities for learning across all the academic discipline. This will involve neighborhood outreach, community revitalization, planning, and international collaboration. It also involved increased quality and number of academic programs. Program evaluation is a skill that requires for skilled people to conduct an evaluation that is credible. My reason for taking this class was to gain the basic understanding of the program evaluation. As I became involved in the readings and class assignments I discovered a profound level of respect for this application. I uncovered that evaluations should dedicate thoughtfulness to all stakeholders who are invested in the program and affected by its evaluation. This process allows a full range of people and groups to take part in the evaluation; this is also a way to identify and develop the needs of stakeholders. Evaluation should be integrated throughout the preliminary phases of program development. A preliminary phase of the evaluation process is to define the program in-depth detail. This collective endeavor can generate a mutual understanding of the program and the evaluation process. In the environment in which I work this is an unknown process, program evaluation happens at the end of the year. In most cases, most programs are unsuccessful because of the fact of having unrealistic goals and outcomes. Evaluations can be formative and summative. Formative evaluations are conducted in the development and implementation phase of the program. This process can be beneficial because it provides with information on how to best attain the goals or make changes to the program. Summative evaluations happen when the programs are well instituted and inform on to what degree the program is attaining its outcomes and goals (Patton, 1987).

...ies will enhance student learning and your own professional development. Evaluation strategies enhance students’ learning as well as my own professional development by giving feedback about their work to help them understand their strengths and weaknesses and identify what parts or aspects of their work needs to be improved. Providing frequent feedback can also be valuable in helping to identify patterns of growth, providing direction for a student’s individual development, and helping students improve their abilities to assess their own work and respond to the work of others. Students can develop a clear sense of their abilities by evaluating their own writing. Teacher evaluation is used to inform effective instruction. Student learning will have progressed and will need to be assessed again so that instruction can be planned to extend the students' new growth.

A school knows its students’ needs best and how to meet
It should also communicate high expectations for success of all students, and a belief that all students can succeed. The school should be personally committed to achieving equity for all students and believe that they are capable of making a difference in their students’ learning. It should offer an academically challenging curriculum while focusing on creating an interactive and collaborative learning environment. The school should help students see learning tasks as meaningful and relevant and include in the curriculum the contributions and perspectives of the different ethno cultural groups that compose the society. Many colleges and universities are implementing a housing option called living-learning communities. These communities are “programs that involve undergraduate students who live together in a residential community and participate in academic and extracurricular programming especially designed for them” (UMBC). Typically, these living-learning communities place students together according to their major or career field. Colleges allow their students to choose to live in any community in which its theme best first their interests. Many people have opposing views on if these living-learning communities are the best option for college students.
Last, but not least, I will have the students take responsibility for their own learning by having them set individualized goals and by assisting them with tracking their progress towards meeting these goals. All in all, to help my students make the appropriate academic gains, I need the whole school community (including the students and other adults) to be invested in the students’
