Part Four- Assignment Two Throughout the world, there are many families that have faced the terrible word called divorce. Divorce is a major tragedy in many individuals life, mainly for children. Children usually does not understand why their parents are getting divorced, and blame themselves for the decision. Although this is heartbreaking for the whole family, some individuals would rather be divorced than have conflict everyday, which also has a huge impact on children. Even though in a partnership we fight, but if the sparks and attraction is not their maybe it is best to move on. There are many steps that parents and intimate partners go through that help them consider being divorced. However, going through the separation process does not always mean that they are going to officially get a divorced. Many individuals go to counseling, which helps them build their marriage back up. After many months of contemplating on if divorce is the right choice, many choices to remain separated forever, and file for legal separation. According to Seccombe (2015), “Legal separation is a binding agreement signed by both spouses that provides details about child support” (p.355). Some even decide to precede filing for divorce. Also, as we look at the story presented about Melanie, we see that she has faced a lot of different dimensions. Emotionally, she feels angry, embarrassed, and guilty. These emotions are usually common in children because they wonder what made their parents want a divorce. Going through this emotionally is extremely difficult for any child. “Dealing with divorce is extremely difficult emotionally” (Seccombe, 2015, p.356).
