Making the World a Safer Place for Children
Children take the impact of extreme poverty. This is statistical fact, not hyperbole. It was proven that, recently, the World Bank’s poverty data displayed that about half of all of the people living on less than $1.25 per day are eighteen years of age or even younger. Also, almost four-hundred million children all around the world under the age of thirteen were living in extreme poverty. This number of children in extreme poverty is more than the population of the entire United States.

Another big landmark in UNICEF was the Special Session on Children. In 2002, this was the first type of session that included children as official delegates and was devoted solely to children. This conference took place in order to discuss the progress that the World Summit for Children had achieved.

UNICEF has helped millions and millions of children survive the sometimes harsh and cruel world. They have provided billions of articles of clothing and supplementary meals. This agency was able to provide hundreds of thousands with emergency aid. They have been in operations for years and have achieved so much. It is highly encouraged for everyone to join them in their quest for a cleaner and safer world for children and mothers in all nations.
