In the exercise community, there is an issue regarding tribe mentality. Some individuals believe tribe mentality is bad, others beg to differ. However, tribe mentality can be very motivating and inspirational and can push many individuals to pursue a healthier lifestyle.

Even though tribe mentality is beneficial in many ways, it also has it’s negative aspects. For example, tribe mentality can cause an individual to not want to branch out into other forms of exercise. One member of an exercise group may shame yoga because it’s too easy. As a result, this may discourage that individual to branch out and try yoga.
