Throughout the years, math has become a key factor in the creation of many of the advancements and innovation which have drastically changed our daily lives. For instance, architects utilize triangles in their designs in order to distribute the weight of the building so that it will not collapse; consequently, triangles are used in the construction of bridges so that the weight of a car is evenly distributed among the bridge. The entrance wound of the bullet can help determine the angle in which the criminal held the gun while shooting; thus, this information can lead to the calculation of the height of the suspect. An officer notices that the kitchen counter has smudged bloody fingerprints. With just one fingerprint, the law enforcement is able to analyze and identify who the killer is. Ever since scientists have discovered that no two fingerprints are alike, they have been used as a means of identification. It was discovered that fingerprints have general ridge patters that allow them to be systematically classified. A regular fingerprint may have as many as 150 ridge characteristics (Fingerprinting-An Emerging Technology). Fingerprinting has become the universal method for identifying and tracking criminals.
