In Harper Lee’s novel To Kill A Mockingbird, a black man is wrongfully convicted due to racism. In Macomb which is a small town in southern Alabama Scout and Jem Finch spend their days trying to find out who the mysterious Boo Radley is. When their dad Atticus which is a lawyer gets assigned Tom Robinsons case. Who is a black man accused of beating and raping Mayela Ewell. Throughout the story Jem and scout learn you shouldn’t judge someone until you walk around in their skin.
In To Kill a Mockingbird the main protagonists Jem and Scout finch father is assigned the case of a black man Tom Robinson who has been wrongfully accused of raping a white woman by the name of Mayela Ewell. The theme you shouldn’t judge someone until you walk around in their shoes is mostly evident in the movie. Although the theme it is a sin to kill a mocking bird, it isn’t presented as well as the other themes. The theme it is a sin to kill a mocking bird is more apparent in the novel than in the movie because the novel focuses more on boo Radley than the movie did. This is one of the themes that the movie neglected to feature. Since was only in the movie was with Mrs. Dubos. In the movie the kids never learned this important lesson and dill never had the breakdown in the court house. This was welly represented in the novel. In the novel Delphos Ramon was a white man who lived alongside black men and women, he always carried around a bottle in a paper sack. Many people thought it was alcohol and that that was the only way he could live like he does. But it was really just coke and he just let people think that way for their own wellbeing.
