Martin Luther was a German professor who studied theology, was a monk, composer, and priest in the Protestant Reformation. Luther was born in 1483. His theology challenged the authority of the papacy by holding that the Bible is the only infallible source of religious authority. Lutheranism was created by Luther and most of the people in Europe followed his practice. The famous professor died in 1546 at the age of 64.
