Timothy Donald Cook is the current CEO of Apple Inc.; outstanding from Apple Cook also holds a seat on the board of directors of Nike and the national football foundation. What makes Cook an amazing manager and leader is his ability to fuse calculative methods of management with his own ethical beliefs to make a form of management that is effective yet comfortable for his personnel. In the perspective of management and leadership, Cook is a transformational leader that follows the four key behaviors of a transformational leader. Cook is the first CEO to come out and openly inform the public of being Gay, instead of hiding this from the public he shared it and he took pride in being gay. Cook later influenced the company to celebrate and march in the 2015 San Francisco pride parade, it celebrated the rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender and over 8000 Apple employees attended. "Last year Apple spent more than $3 billion … Promoting business opportunities through many partner organizations such as the National Minority Supplier Development Council, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, the National Veteran-Owned Business Association, and the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (Creating jobs through innovation. 2015)”. Another major factor of diversity that Cook spent time on was race, he spend the past several years motivating and changing the culture of the company to focus on employing a more diverse group of individuals to allow the company to strive more and increase innovation. In a message Cook wrote to the public on Apple's website "In the past year we hired over 11,000 women globally, which is 65 percent more than in the previous year. In the United States, we hired more than 2,200 Black employees — a 50 percent increase over last year — and 2,700 Hispanic employees, a 66 percent increase… in the first 6 months of this year, nearly 50 percent of the people we’ve hired in the United States are women, Black, Hispanic, or Native American"(Inclusion inspires innovation.
