For everyone in the business world, Mark Zuckerberg is not a very oblivious name to them. He is a young successful businessman and that is undeniable. However, Mark is also a very successful leader in his own company as well as to the world. His impact from creating Facebook is more than just impressive. Mark created the social media website where people get connected virtually and lead the company incredibly successful. Mark’s leadership style can be seen with inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and idealized influence. With all those components above, Mark Zuckerberg is a great example of transformational leadership.

A quick look at inspirational motivation component in transformation leadership, the leader is considering “behave in the way that motivate and inspire those around them providing meaning and challenge to their followers’ work… Leaders get followers involved in envisioning attractive future states; they create clearly communicated expectations that followers want to meet and also demonstrate commitment to goals and shared vision” (6, transformational leadership introduction). Mark Zuckerberg is a perfect sample of this component. In the book “The Facebook effect”, David Kirkpatrick has a chance to talk to the young CEO of Facebook and this is what Mark Zuckerberg assure his vision of the company: “We’re a utility-We’re trying to increase the efficiency through which people can understand their world. Intellectual stimulation in a brief definition is the leader giving the followers opportunity to look at the problems from many different angles. Mark Zuckerberg not just upraises the priority of sharing a vision of the company to his employee, but he also upraises the creativity of the employee when work for him. Especially it is a social media website, where he need people with creativity and innovative work for him to create a website that will attract more people. In an article from Entrepreneur about working for Facebook, the author has mentioned a quote from Mark that show how his feature the creativity in his company: “[Employees] need the ability to fully exercise all their creativity and all their capacity, or else they’re not going to be having the biggest impact that they can have on the world, and they’re going to want to go do something else” (Weiss). In addition to that, Mark Zuckerberg also focuses on approaching the problem from different perspectives. Especially when working with connecting people from all over the world, the diversity of thinking and perspective on one problem is very important.
