Religion is portrayed in many ways; it can be used as an origin story, a belief, or even a way to unite. Although there are many different religions today, we can agree that religion has a common aspect: it makes us who we are. Religion was created so we could come together as one: united and strong. Religion has a way of coming up in almost every situation. “How was that made”, “By God” , “Not by machine?” With curiosity seeping from our brains, religion answers the questions we need that cannot be explained. Religion brings people to come to a common belief. All those who question our universe, or anything in our world, look back to their religion. For instance, people all over the world argue over how the Earth came to be. Religious people say that the Lord created the world because his will be done, while scientists explain that The Big Bang brought the world into existence. For example, in world history, religions spread with a leader who had followers: Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. After these leaders die, the congregation, who lives to only serve their leader, must keep their leader’s legacy going and continue to hold up the religion. Religion is not just a collaboration of spiritual ideas and writings from ancient books. Religion has become more than just that within our modern society. Some have went as far as to say that religion is the ultimate drive; that guides our human emotions, our actions, and even to some our very own existence. Though religion can be considered a broad topic, there are rooted ideas and concepts that almost all spiritual beliefs entail. Any person with some religious drive will ultimately face their own inner resistance at one point or another, and will be forced to overcome the profane world in which they live to understand the more spiritual and sacred life they choose to lead. Throughout my life, I feel that religion is one of the core social belief systems that people use to maintain what they feel is a good way to live.
