The model explains human behavior in terms of considerations that one thinks about when prior to performing and behavior. The author examines the factors that motivate behavior by exploring ones belief about the consequences of a behavior and how that belief leads to the development of an attitude toward said behavior. Also by considering the expectations of important others, social norms are created.
