“The Tyger”, by William Blake, was a poem that was written in the 18th century. The poem has a theme of self empowerment, the “fire within” that everyone holds true to themselves. His tone that goes alongside the theme is passionate. The syntax and diction of the poem reflects the tone quite accurately. The diction that is in the poem is present to show the strong nature of the text when you have words like “seize, spears, dread, furnace, immortal, and symmetry”, that show that show that these are strong words that bring out his passion in the text.
