Where would we be without technology? Would the world still be without it. Creating machines is all we know and , although with all their advantages, there are also in disadvantages. In the story “the soft rain will come” by Ray Bradbury, man are the only Gods and creators known in the house. Everything in the house are all inventions of man. In the house,you could find almost anything that makes our daily lives easier; robots to clean after us, to cook for us and even some that read to us. It is a dream house except that there was no one to take advantage of it. The author uses a lot of things as symbols of bigger pictures and i believe that there is a plot behind it. In the real world of 2017, humans are causing all types of pollutions in this world. All though some want the best for Earth, others don't really care. In the story, all though all the machines want to keep the house clean and looked after, they ultimately cause the burning of the house. In many ways, the house could be like earth to the machines. It is the only thing left and although they all want the best for the house, it all comes to an end. This shows that no matter how many machines we create, they will never be nothing like humans. They will not be able to operate on their own. We humans operate on time and have schedules and watches to remind us what we do and when we do it. In this story, there is a clock that all the machines operate on. When the clock says a certain time, it turns on a different machines to either clean the house, cook or read a bedtime story. It is curious choice and why Mrs McClellan liked this story as if there was war already when they were growing up. Maybe she already knew that the world would end soon but it is more sad that she knew her destiny at the end as a child. What could have caused the end of the world? It could be worldwide war but not everyone would die in away. The ecosystem on earth is getting worse day by day and could give up on as any day and we could all die. Every house that is destroyed, is usually done by what lives in it. We destroying earth everyday. In the story, the author talks about the cigar being already half way through as if it was being lit everyday until the last day. The machines lived in the house destroying it day by day till it was no more. Although the tree knocked cleaning product into the fire, the robots are to be blamed too.
