Documentaries, as a type of media, is a film or television or radio program that provides a factual report on a particular subject. In my opinions, filmmakers of documentaries shouldn’t partial not include some facts or include more scenes on a specific sub-topic, instead, they should include everything in an objective way. By the above definition of documentary, it apparently shows there is a need for documentaries to be factually accurate. If a “documentary” is not factually accurate, it no longer would be a documentary. Alternatively, it is just a film or simply, it is a TV program. Hence, no one will bother to watch documentaries and at the same time they will have a way fewer to get correct information. Moreover, many documentaries are used for education, for example, geography teacher always play geographic documentaries, which are about exploring factors of a climate change and its effect etc. This kind of documentaries provide more details to both teachers and students, since textbooks are published in a more precise way, which means students may not be able to know and learn, for instance, the whole process of climate change. To illustrate the purpose of raising awareness of a documentary, I have a documentary about animals. As we all know, most of glaciers are melting, so inhabitants of animals like polar bears and penguins, are destroyed. Apart from this, human hunt wild animals illegally. These factors cause diminishment of numbers of wild and marine animals. Most of documentaries show how human activities affect the animals and how their environment has been changed.
