The Panic! It was a nice and quiet day here in Center, TX. I was in the living room laying on the couch watching a movie with my brother and sister. Then all of a sudden the news popped up on the screen. It was breaking news and the weather reporter announced that a tornado would hit Shelby County in half an hour. I told my parents right away what the weather reporter had mentioned. My parents and I were panicking and we didn't know what to do. So we quickly gathered all of our clothes and our electronics like the television, game systems, and phones. We loaded our things in the car. But I had forgot about Panda and Scooby …show more content…
They were on the porch and they looked frightened. But it was probably the wind chimes that were making so much racket. I called Panda and Scooby, they ran towards me and followed me to the front yard. I opened the door to the Tahoe and Panda and Scooby jumped in. I asked my mom where my dad was at, she said, " he is in the truck. " My brother asked my mom where we were going to Dallas until the tornado passes by. I couldn't believe that we had gathered all of our things together in time before the tornado hit Shelby County. On our way to Dallas my mom called my uncle to ask him if we could spend a few days until the tornado passed. While she was on the phone I began thinking about Panda and Scooby and how would it feel if we had left them back at home. Then after about an hour we stopped at a Mexican restaurant to eat. I ordered four tacos and looked up and the television that was in the top corner was on the news. It was showing the Shelby County news it brought up the
Thunder rolled intensely outside, my aunt, mother, sister and I were sat calmly in the basement. We had been through this many times before; I mean afterall, Kansas was part of Tornado Alley. 2. My sister and I were young when this happened, her probably four or five, me about eight. 3. Before we had even started driving to my aunt’s house; since she’s the only one with a basement; my sister and I were complaining about being hungry. 4. Mom said she would get us something to eat soon, but then the sirens started blaring. 5. She called my aunt and told her we would be over in about ten minutes. 6. Me and my sister continued to complain about being hungry because, we always had to get what we wanted. 7. So my mom stopped at McDonald’s and got us some food. 8. After we were almost five minutes later than we said we would be my aunt panicked. 9. Jenny, my aunt, was calling like crazy. 10. When we finally got to her house she lectured my mom about how it wasn’t safe to have us out there like that with a tornado in the area. 11.Afterwards, we all sat on the porch and watched the storm. 12. That’s my favorite memory with my family, and it’s one I’ll never forget.
In August 2005, at the tender age of 7, I received the most devastating news. I was told by my family that a hurricane was coming to my city, New Orleans, Louisiana. Because of this storm, Hurricane Katrina, I was told that I would most likely have to move away for a long time, meaning the rest of my life. My family and I lost everything, and the hurricane ended up destroying the entire city completely. This was heartbreaking to me for a plethora of reasons, including that I lost loved ones and was separated from the rest of my family at such an early age. This ravaging storm marked the most drastic change of my life.
When I was little, me and my family were sitting in the living room and watching T.V. and the next thing we hear is the doorbell. When my mom opened the door our family friend Mary, told my mom that she had dropped her keys in the dumpster and needed me and my
rainstorm, and was positive one was coming. The wind started to howl, so strong that it
Day 1 of the power outage we had no school so Me, My mom, Jayden, and Michelle got into the car and started driving around to see what the storm did. So we pull off our road and we start driving not even a mile away we see a tree hanging from a power line!! We all were surprised. We keep driving until me reach a spot where a tree is in the middle of the side we were driving on. So we had to stop and wait till the cars pass so that we could go around the tree then turn around. We turned around then we drove to pine land and found trees ripped out of the ground and power lines on the ground. Michelle turned around cause we didn’t want to risk going over the power line and getting hurt. Then we go towards memorial school and I say can we go home
When we looked behind us we could see a very dark ominous shelf cloud heading towards us, but we ignored it because everyone else did not seem to ne worried. The panic only started when the cloud was right above us. The sirens began wailing and rain came gushing down on everybody like a waterfall. People started running for cover. Large bright lightening bolts illuminated the sky. A voice in the speakers said there was a tornado. My parents and I started running even faster towards our car. We eventually got in the car and started driving back to out hotel. We were sopping wet and chilled to the
My mom had been going to school in Greeley and staying at my Aunt Margaret's house . She had been away for two weeks and wanted to come home for the Fourth of July weekend. My mom had suggested that I go back with her and visit colleges, shop, go to movies and just spend time together. I had been feeling pretty sorry for myself since she had been gone. I had been working alot as a maid and helping my dad run the house, I was getting very irritated with my siblings as I felt that I was the only family member doing my part to help my dad. I was really excited to have a week with my mom to myself. The whole ride over we were talking about what I wanted to do that week. Making plans and having "me time" seemed very important at the time.
day my mom came to pick us up from my grandparents house , she didn't tell us what we were going but we just got in the car and just started going .my mother drove us all the way to Douglasville where we saw her new house. When we got to the new house we were so shocked everything was so nice and so clean it was like walking into a dream house .
We got my radio and started listing for the tornado. We were starting to put wood in the windows and lock the door. For me and family and friend was scary because I was saying it was are last day. We will have to go to the basement to safety, away from the windows.
It was a day just like any other except the air felt moist, really humid in fact I just stayed inside it was so hot. Little did the people and I know that in just a few hours everyone would be evacuating the city. Despite this weird weather my brother and I still proceeded to do what we were determined to do, we were wanting to build a tree house not a very good one it would turn out to be either after today. We were merely up the tree when we received an alert saying that in about half an hour, the worlds largest hurricane would hit our area.
After everything was inside I turned on the tv and saw that a storm was coming. I peeked outside and saw really dark clouds and this motel was not far from the beach so I started to worry. I got inside and told the whole family so we could be
I was playing on my PlayStation. My mom came into the room and said “There is a tornado watch and you should get off so the PlayStation doesn’t get fried. I got off of it and I went to get a snack. I went to my room and I got on the weather channel’s website

When you think of emotions you think of the classic, sadness, happiness, and madness. The one people often forget is the emotion of anxiety. Anxiety is one of the only emotions that you can have and actually not show it. Anxiety itself is very strange, depending on who you are, and how your brain works, anything can cause it . Anxiety usually follows you throughout your life but for some people, it changes as you change and grow. You aren 't the same height as you were when you were 6, you grew. There’ s a chance that the anxiety you encounter works the same way. Some classic emotions remain the same throughout your life for the most part, but anxiety as a tendency to morph.
My tie flew in the morning wind. The only thing that I hoped was that I would not be late to work, I had been warned a couple of times about me being late. Luckily the bus too was late as usual. As I was boarding the bus I looked up for a vacant seat. What I saw then was quite unbelievable.
