The Maze Runner : Welcome
Lately Hollywood has been the producing movies that gives us some suspense, adventure, and action. Now, it is all about the survival of the fittest in the movies. We often find in these movies children surviving in the wood, or an abandon place, or a group of teenagers fighting to have some food. The Maze Runner directed by West Ball, meet these ideas of survival but also gives us a futuristic view of the world .The Maze Runner takes place in a post-apocalyptic world (dystopia) portraying a curious main character, an external and internal conflicts, an outstanding soundtrack, and a twisted end which make this movie so exciting . The hero of The Maze Runner is Thomas, played by Dylan O’Brien mostly known for the

I like this part of the movie because the mystery of Thomas is being solved. The girl recognized him but he does not recognize her. The leader of the gladers told Thomas that he had jeopardized the peace between the gladers and Grievers because of his actions. The leader wanted to punish Thomas but the second in command of the runner did not oppose himself to save Thomas. When Teresa arrived she had two syringes with unknown substance, they use it on the runner who was stung was a Griever. He started to recover slowly with his memory along. I was very confused and impress in this scene because the glader who recover his memory seeing Thomas and Teresa running test on them which made it confusing , and I was impress because it only took the side effect of a substance to trigger a memory. Meanwhile Thomas and the leader of the runners were looking at a replica of the maze made by the leader after spending three years in the glade. Thomas decide to go in the other section of the maze which was unexplored to see if there is a possible exit. I was very amazed to see that when they went in there Thomas had a feeling of déjà vu more like he recognized the sign on the wall. I was sure that he would fulling recover his memory but he did not. In a farther scene I was left speechless by the action of Thomas who blaming him for the death of the others which push him to stabs himself with a Griever stinger to trigger his memory. Unconscious, he get some flashes of him and Teresa working for the people who made the maze W.C.K.D (World in Catastrophe: Killzone Department). When he regain consciousness he told the others the truth. They were all test
Now Thomas from The Maze Runner has to keep moving he doesn’t look back he has to keep on moving forward (or backwards, wherever the maze takes him). Besides Chuck (which was probably his best friend at the time) he left them for
Thomas’ character is still the protagonist in The Scorch Trials, as he is the one who drives the storyline. WICKED stands for The World in Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department. The people who work for WICKED are the antagonists, because they are the source of the consternation. Without these two literary elements the story would have no push, nor would it peak any reader’s interest. The conflicts revolve around both of these entities. Once the Gladers get out of the Maze, they think they are finally safe. Unfortunately they are in worse shape than when they were in the Glade. Life in the Glade was predictable, even methodical, up until the end. Upon leaving the Glade, WICKED subjects them to another trial, one in which they experience chaos and mayhem around every turn. The main challenge is to cross the burned up section of the world called the Scorch. They must find their way to a safe haven within a two week period. Of course WICKED has made sure to stack the odds against them.
The runners are the children that have to find a way out of the maze. Some of the people have been trying to get out of the maze for three years. After some time they have a few memories that become clear. The people that brought them hear call themselves “Wicked.” Alby is considered an elder, because he has been there the longest. All of the people have their set ways to do things; some are runners
My first reason why I think Thomas was put in the maze because he is smart. In the book, it shows that Thomas was smart because he was the main one who figured out how to get out/solve the maze and the code for the maze. This evidence shows that thomas is not only smart but different from the others put in the maze with him because he was the first one to get out. I wonder if the smartest people are different because they know more than everyone else and think different from other people. In conclusion, this shows that Thomas is smart.
First, in the introduction, It says, “He began his new life standing up.” This makes it sound like Thomas was born a new when he entered the maze, which is kind of true because Thomas has no memories of his past life. Thomas has no clue what has happened, where he is or what his name is. Thomas just thinks Thomas and continues to live as if his name is Thomas. These are the first interesting ideas that we are exposed to in the introduction of the Maze Runner.
As you know they have just escaped the Maze and are now greeted by Gally and a WICKED lady. Gally throws a knife at Thomas and chuck jumps in front of it to save Thomas’s life. I think this scene is a major turning point for Thomas. I think Thomas learns a very important lesson that he needs to know going forward in his journey. What is that lesson you ask, Everything happens for a purpose.
The maze runner by James Dashner is about a group of teen boys who are racing against the clock to solve a seemingly impossible maze, at the same time trying to stay alive while trying to uncover their past. As the plot develops, friendships are tested to the maximum. Their fight until the end proves that, with teamwork you can accomplish anything and it is always better to work together.
Meanwhile, Thomas learns more about the Glade. He learns that the Gladers have been trying to solve the Maze for two years and that the Grievers sting can cause you to recall memories from the past. The process is painstaking and is dreaded by other gladers. He feels oddly connected to the new girl and also befriends a young and enthusiastic (if slightly annoying) Glader named Chuck. He also befriends a boy called Newt. On the other hand, he strikes up a somewhat negative relationship with Gally, who thinks suspiciously of Thomas and claims that he has seen him, after he was stung by a Griever, in a process known as the Changing. Thomas also feels an inexplicable urge to be a Runner, the people who explore, map out, and try to find a way out of the Maze.
Thomas is a very caring person even though he lives in a crank infested world. Thomas looks after his best friend Teresa and Chuck throughout the book. Teresa is Thomas’s best friend and
For instance, when the people of the Glade discover that Ben got stung by a Griever, they immediately bring him to the entrance of the maze with bad intentions: Ben cries, “Please don’t! Please don’t do this!” (Ball) The boys began to use long sticks to usher Ben into the maze while it closes, intending to trap him in there. Under those circumstances, Chuck looked very disappointed and so ashamed that he walked away from what was happening. This practice displayed the savagery that goes on inside the Glade and how Chuck doesn’t believe that what the boys did was morally right. Furthermore, upon Teresa’s arrival, came the antidote to “the changing” (Ball). When a Griever stung Alby, Thomas used this cure on him in hopes to save him from the infection. Had the Gladers not jump into such ruthless actions so quickly, Ben would still be alive. To emphasize, Chuck also paid a visit to Thomas in the pit: “It’s just me, you’ll run better on a full stomach.” (Ball) Chuck’s concern for Thomas’s well-being supports his innocence because nobody else cared to bring Thomas food. Chuck acts like a brother figure to Thomas and these bonds need to grow throughout the community. Creating positive relationships in which the Gladers only support and help each other, is the only way out of the maze alive. If there is too much hostility between the members of the glade, not only
Most of the boys lost hope of getting out of the Maze and were working on surviving within the safe area of the Glade. Thomas taught me that while we can't really control where we start in life, we can definitely control where we end up as long as we don’t give up. Knowing he needed his memories to help him and the Gladers escape the Maze, Thomas had to choose to be stung by a Griever to go through the Changing. This decision allowed them to escape the Maze. Elements of Plot 1.
One difference I have come to notice among the movie and book of Maze Runner is Thomas and Alby's relationship. I have found that in the book, Alby's description is portraying a rude person. He doesn't seem to like having Thomas around and doesn't even seem to acknowledge that he has one more person to help out at the glade. As it says in the book, "A dark-skinned boy frowned above him." This excerpt from Maze Runner shows the aggressive actions that Alby displayed towards Thomas in the book. In the movie, Alby welcomes Thomas to the glade. He takes more of a mentor role, and not a rude leader that doesn't like Thomas.
James Dashner's The Maze Runner is a novel that portrays the life of specifically chosen teenagers, who live in a colossal sized maze. They are tested to escape the maze and find a cure for the disease which broke out during The Changing. The Gladers who are inside the maze illustrate the theme of bravery in the novel, especially Thomas, after his arrival at the Glade. Thomas has the courage to take risks, such as going into the Maze at night to save Minho and Alby. His bravery gives him the opportunity to open up to his talents and abilities which allow him and his friends to grow and discover the mysteries of the Maze and their past lives. When we think of bravery in the Glade, we only think of the physical bravery, but bravery is also the state of showing courageous behaviour or character. We first see this form of bravery from Thomas as illustrated."Somehow he knew he had to do it. It was such an odd thing to feel, especially after what he had just seen...'Now

The novel The Maze Runner by James Dashner begins with a teenage boy waking up in an elevator who has no memory of the past, only that his name is Thomas. When the doors of the elevator open up he is pulled into a humongous square surrounding, called the Glade, by a group of teenage boys. The boys in the Glade refer to themselves as the ‘Gladers’. Thomas learns that the Gladers have lived in there for two years and that the Glade is located in the center of a maze which contains a labyrinth of high walls that move during the night and deadly creatures called grievers. The Glade is led by two boys, Alby and Newt; they both maintain order in the Glade by enforcing strict rules and jobs that keep the Gladers busy. A day after Thomas’ arrival an unknown girl arrives in the Glade. This shocks everyone because the Gladers only receive a new person every month, never within the same week. This also shocks everyone because she was the only girl in a maze full of boys. The girl also gives a message that everything is going to change and that she is the last one ever. Right after her message she immediately falls into a coma. The arrival of the girl causes many things to go chaotic including the sun seizing to rise, the Gladers stop receiving supplies from the creators of the maze, and the doors of the Glade that protect the Gladers from the grievers at night stop closing. When the girl, Teresa wakes up she informs Thomas that they both knew each other in the past and that the maze was a code. Thomas and the people who run around the maze to map out the labyrinth, the runners, look through the archives of the maps and find out the code. Then the leader of the runners, Minho, figures out that the cliff they thought was just a cliff was actua...
