Nowadays, with the speeding development of technology and society, people live in a modern life with great pressure. The pressure is like the air, which is omnipresent. As a result, it is necessary for the adults to play to release all kinds of pressure from modern life. Not only do children need to play for their brain development, but also adults need to play for both physical and mental relaxation. Taking myself as an example, playing basketball helps me release my pressure, improve my health condition, and most importantly, strengthen my spirit of persistence. On the playing field, in order to beat the other games, we should play together and help each other. Playing basketball can let me make some friends, we play together in the playing field and help each other in our daily life. In high school, I joined the school basketball team. That was like a completely new world to me. We needed to follow what coach said and do what he told us to do. The most important was teamwork. When I played with my friends, I can not say there was no teamwork. There still had a role but no captain or leader. We could shout what we wanted and tell what we wanted other members to do. But after I joined the basketball team, I learned that only the coach and captain can make the call. Other members just followed and corporated. "Move, Han, move!" My captain shouts to me when we had the first game. "Aye, Aye, Captain!” “Hey, Josh! I am open! Pass it to me, one more" I said to my teammate after I saw him hold the ball. Based on three months of training, I started getting used to all of those processes and almost fit in this basketball world. I realized teamwork was the way to link all the members together. Many people still think that sports cause “too many injuries”, or coaches “are not fair enough”, but adolescents will experience these things all throughout their lives because injury can happen anywhere and they will not always be the best at what they are doing. To which it involves several individuals, a group mind is in essence, a collective following to a set of beliefs and/or practices, usually brought together through forms of social pressure and preconceived notions of moral obligation. Furthermore, these groups are often characterized by the absence of individualism and a sense of obliviousness towards how their unspoken rules influences their view of the world as a whole. Moreover, group minds also involve social pressures, often enticing some to forsake their opinions to fit the given status quo of the group. Indeed, humans are social creatures that want to feel as if their participation in a group has value, but without the awareness of how social pressures affect their ability to make decisions and how one can overcome such pressure, they are nothing more but mental toxins, or in other words, group minds.

At workplace, teamwork means working together alone your qualified tasks that divided with other co-workers. In basketball, when players were being selfish, they usually do not get wins. Selflessness defines what teamwork means in basketball. Also, teamwork make our job and work fun, which and increase effectiveness.

Sports, a very popular past time today, have been around since ancient times. Greek Olympic Games featured events from chariot races, javelin throws, to wrestling. In addition, a game similar to soccer was played in China by the second century BC. In England, a violent rugby type game was even played to settle feuds between villages. With the development of the industrial revolution and the creation of the first public schools, sports decreased in violence and were played more recreationally and constructively. Basketball was invented to help the youth in New England spend their energy in the winter months. Since the early 1900’s sports have been a key experience in the United States (“History of Sports”). I have played sports for many years, and the experience has helped me grow significantly as an individual.
