There are many similarities and differences between the novel and film version of “The Hunger Games” that can change the audience’s opinions. HoweverHere are five similarities that an audience can spot out in the novel & film, “The Hunger Games”. First, the setting and characters are nearly the same as some people imagined. Another similarity is when they have already reached the Capitol and Peeta says in his interview that he has loved Katniss since they were in kindergarten. Also, when at the parade Katniss and Peeta’s outfits catch on fire. Finally, the last of many similarities between the novel and film is that Rue signaled Katniss to cut the branch with the tracker jacker nest and let it fall on the other Districts that chased Katniss up the tree. Now on to the differences, the differences can affect an audience's thoughts and opinions on the film and novel. For Instance, instead of Madge giving the mockingjay pin, an elderly woman gives it to her. This change can affect an audience’s opinion because if somebody had not read the novel they would not know who Madge is and what her purpose is. Another difference and effect is when Rue dies and Katniss buries her in flowers, District 11 doesn’t send Katniss a loaf of bread like they do iin the novel. This change can …show more content…

To support my opinion, I like the novel than the film because you can see her thoughts and feelings in the novel. Also, there are more details in the novel than film. The novel also has a lot of imagery and foreshadowing;Finally, the film cuts out too many important details and scenes.
