What is Freedom of speech?
Freedom of speech is referred to as the right of a person to express his thoughts and opinions.
Literally speaking, it is the right to communicate anything a person wants without any restrictions by the governing body.
In modern world, the right is reserved for not just “speeches” or verbal communication, but in fact for any medium which facilitates a message or information.
The concept of freedom of speech has been extended to imparting or receiving of opinions in the form of literature, films, and even religious practices.
The right to speech has been documented by the UN in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights under the article 19.

Why is there a need?
Freedom of speech plays an important role in a democracy and in the modern political world where it is emphasized to maintain peace and equality among the people,
One of the key ideas for democracy is that all the people of a state have their role in political affairs and decisions, hence what the people have to say plays an important role.
As it gives power to people to express their discontent on bad democracy or to criticize (positively) any political decisions which is harming the common people, it goes along the ideas of democracy.
In this manner freedom of speech becomes effective for the progress of society as it results in a better political society.
Also, it plays a major role in inviting new ideas and principles to replace the old and conventional ones, It gives space to new methods of governance and laws.
Other than this, it gives people the liberty to practice any religion without any lawful consequences.

Mahound is trying to establish a new religion in which he tells everyone that there is only one god.
This comes in contrast to the fact that there are multiple gods, as believed by the grandee and the people of the city.
The Grandee opposes him firmly and tries to force him to believe that there are 3 more Gods.
Mahound then confirms the existence of three more Gods other than Allah from the archangel Gibreel, who speaks the words of god.
After this, he publically accepts the same.
However, Gibreel soon realises that it was not god who had told him, but Satan.
This city of Jihalia was all imagined by Gibreel, and it held importance to the remaining
