In The Current Unit Of English III We Have Discussed Two Stories. The First Story Being “ The Crucible”. The Second Story We Reviewed Was Called “The Dying Girl That No One Helped”. The first story was a story based on true events about the Salem Witch Trials, Which ultimately caused the death of many innocent people. The second story was about a poor innocent woman who was brutally murdered with the presence of 38 witnesses. The Story “The Crucible” Correlates but also Differentiates with the story “The Dying Girl That No One Helped”.

The Story of “The Crucible” Correlates With “The Dying Girl” because of the structure of the story. In The Crucible, extreme practices of religion led people to condone the murder of many innocent men and women all due to the false accusations made to them of using witchcraft. These deaths, these punishments handed to them were unjustified. People Stood by and watched as innocent people that they grew up with and knew very dearly get hung by the neck. This Correlates With the dying girl because in the events of her murder, 38 people stood by and watched as a man brutally stabbed her multiple times, this woman died a slow and painful death and no one attempted to do anything to save her. This is just like how no one tried to save the people being hung in The Crucible. They Stood By and watched innocent people die. …show more content…

The First reason being religion playing a part in one story and not the other. In “The Crucible” people tried to justify the hanging of innocent people by using their religion and fear of god. The dying girl that no one helped was just an unplanned and unmotivated murder. Another Difference is that the hangings in The Crucible Were Caused by the lies Of a Psychotic Mistress.
