The Declaration of Independence is one of the most remarkable documents of the United States of America. The elaborate document contains almost fourteen-hundred words including a basic structure divided into two parts and within the two divided parts contains four main ideas within seven components. The declaration is not just any standard written document; it is a work of art painted by colonists who are driven by rage because of King George III of Great Britain injustices’ toward the colonies. This exemplifies that colonists took control and took part in creating the Declaration of Independence by voicing their opinions, hoping to acquire the freedom they deserve, “through time, to come together in one place, in one time, and in one document: the Declaration of Independence” (Malone 1). Currently exhibited in Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom in Washington D.C., the Declaration of Independence was originally drafted on June 11, 1776 by the “Committee of Five” were chosen by Congress included Thomas Jefferson, Robert Livingston, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and lastly John Adams. “Jefferson's account reflects three stages in the life of the Declaration: the document originally written by Jefferson; the changes to that document made by Franklin and Adams, resulting in the version that was submitted by the Committee of Five to the Congress; and the version that was eventually adopted” (Ferris 3). The Declaration of Independence was a statement the “Committee of Five” drafted to present independence for the colonies. On July 1, 1776, Congress reassembled the document written by the “Committee of Five”. However, on the 4th of July, the Declaration was officially adopted and signed on August 2, 1776. (U.S. 1776) This quote informs that the state of Britain was greatly dissolving. The free and independent states of the United States of America have their rights and privileges. The end of the quote includes the pledges last part, by making their pledge to God and seeks protection from him and then a pledge to each other. People tried to fight it and a committee was formed to write it, the Declaration of Independence. The big picture of this thousand worded document exemplifying the rights of man, as Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson stated “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.” The Declaration declared the colonies free from King George’s rule and was able to use the term the United States of America after the Declaration was adopted.
