We live in a society where everything is nearly backwards. The justice system was created to protect the people and their constitutional rights, but lately that has been the exact opposite. Our police officers take an oath to protect and save, but they only protect and save themselves. Attempting to meet their quota instead of attempting to save and make a difference. Along with our court systems that are supposed to be making fair and just rulings. Sending people to jail or prison for time they do not deserve, ending lives when it is unnecessary, ignoring the precedent, and laws placed by our current president.

When it comes to search and seizure, sentencing, and being arrested there are plenty of differences between races. In the data it was found that prison sentences for black men were nearly 20% longer than white sentences(NAACP), they would commit the same crime , but receive different sentencing. In a recent a case between Brock Turner and Corey Batey they both committed the same time, under the same circumstances, but received two different sentencing. Turner was given little to barely any time while on the other hand Batey was given 15 years in prison(King). There should have been no way that they can serve different times even though they committed the same act. Also in most cases when police stop people to search them and basically harass them it is all built-up from assumptions. From personal experience I know that cops may stop you on suspicion, but the description they may be given will not be in full detail. It may be said that “a person” had done something, but no race or anything more specific than that. One night my friend and I were walking when the cops pulled over and stopped us. They been asking him a series of questions, jumping to a lot of conclusions, and searching him. After finally checking his ID they believed him. All the cops had to say was, “We got a call saying a suspicious person with hair was walking in the neighborhood,” nothing to match his description,
