Cause of war War is used as a solution to a conflict; two countries that are not getting along usually fight each other for power or to show which is stronger. Many different things cause war, but it all starts with the government. A government that is hungry for power and money would do anything to get what it wants. The more power the government has, the more power they’ll want. Another cause of war is believed to be religion, different religions describe different ideas and understandings, but those different ideas are disagreements over many things. If a government didn’t like another’s idea it causes disagreement, and that means war. An alliance is when two countries join forces because of mutual advantages. Alliances play a major role in wars, the more the alliances the more destructive the outcome of the war. An example would be World War I, if the allies of Austria-Hungary and Serbia were not involved, it wouldn’t have ended up into the First World War. Alliances were formed for safety, power, military weapons and soldiers to insure a country’s safety. Now it’s a matter of who is stronger or better. A single event in one country would variably involve the other countries. A tug on one string tugged the rest, and thus the whole continent fell into war. AJP Taylor an English historian once said that alliances "created an excessively rigid diplomatic framework, within which relatively small detonators could produce huge explosions." (Defense Alliances - The World at War) World War I took place mainly in Europe, which lasted from August 4th 1914 until November 11th 1918 (Rosenberg), which ended with 4 years of constant bloodshed.
