Is it right to chain up another human or call people names and think of killing people? Well this is a situation in the short stories “ The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allen Poe and “ The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst. In the short story “The Cask of Amontillado “ is about a man named Montresor and he is trying to get revenge on fortunato and trick Fortunato to come to his house to try some wine and then Montresor chains up Fortunato and buried him alive into a wall. Also in the short story “The Scarlet Ibis” there is cruelty to it is about the narrator has a younger brother that's disabled and is pushing him way to hard he dies .
