Girls in the 21st-century are insecure with themselves, their body image, and their physical and mental capacity. The most common source that causes these forms of insecurity is our society and the media. The world revolves around money and teenagers are large companies target buyers. Big companies have set girl standards for beauty and this decreases their level of confidence by putting them down. Excelling in life becomes hard for many young girls, since they judge themselves through everyone else and, in turn their self-esteem depreciates. To achieve their goal they do not take to heart who they affect. Teenage girls are their target buyers , and by setting an unachievable standard for an "average" girl, they lower their confidence. Many companies do this so that girls feel they are unable to physically look like the model that is shown. This is so the girls will buy their product, they will use item to boost their image since they are unable to achieve the physical image they want. The media encourages companies standards by promoting them through social networking like Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and many others. Seeing images of women perceived to be "average" only diminishes the confidence of young teenage girls. Young girls strive for perfection due to the constant reminders society puts in front of them. This causes teenage girls to judge their intellectual and physical capabilities. They constantly feel below others and this increases their insecurity. Young girls will comparing the intellectual capacity to others in a negative way impacts their confidence and personality. Due to this they lose confidence in their actions and will not try as hard as they are capable of. They become unwilling to strive to be the best of their abilities, inturn excelling in life becomes difficult for teenage girls. they do not want to make any mistakes that could furthermore diminish their confidence, hoping their mistakes won't affect them in them in the future in a negative way .
