There have been a number of problems arise during my tenancy at 411 ½ Third Street Upper. I have been able to deal satisfactorily with most. I was greeted with a horrible cockroach infestation, plus addressed unsanitary conditions created by poor upkeep.

Over the winter, I was able to sufficiently adapt to stay warm. However, the condition of the windows in this dwelling is deplorable. It is essentially impossible to efficiently cool this residence without incurring an unreasonable electric expense. Correcting this problem is going to require extensive window repairs.

These and other problems, in and of themselves create an unappealing living environment. However, as a result of the recently heavy rains, a second more pressing issue has been exposed. …show more content…

I used the back room only for storage and was angered when I went in to search for an item, discovering that copious amounts of water had leaked and portions of the ceiling falling down. This revealed a black mold problem, that by all appearances, clearly existed before I moved in. In consulting with health professionals, this situation is likely to be responsible for a number of adverse health problems I have experienced over the last 3 months.

I have ignored countless nuisances while living at 411 ½ Third Street Upper. However, I refuse to subject myself to further health hazards caused by the obvious presence of black mold in this dwelling. I have incurred the unexpected expenses of securing storage for valued possessions and preparing to move to a new residence. I request your professional courtesy to forego the rental fee for July 2017, in lieu of alternative measures to compensate me for these
