The book “Walk Two Moons”, by Sharon Creech, is a book about a girl called Salamanca Tree Hiddle from Bybanks, Kentucky that moves on to Euclid, Ohio with her father. Although her mom left them Salamanca still have the hope to find her mom in Lewiston, Idaho. So with her Gram and her Grandpa she goes on a road trip to Idaho to find her mom until her birthday. Hope and love during the road trip and the book is the main thing. During the trip she stops at places where her mom stopped, in addition to pass the time she told the story of Phoebe and hers. Some places she stopped were at Yellowstone, Coeur d’Alene, Black Hills, Old Faithful In between other places, but who was Sal? Sal or Salamanca was a girl of thirteen years old that lived in Bybanks, Kentucky with her family: her mom(Chanhassen), her father(John) and her grandparents . An example is when her mother went away and died. Her father told her but, she didn’t believed. She still had the hope that her mother was alive and as a consequence she went on a road trip with her Grandparents to find her. Salamanca’s humble love was expressed in different ways. Sal’s love for her mom, Ben, family and vice versa are shown in many different ways in the book. The most important thing is that love almost never goes as the way we think. The most important lesson these two themes show are: even though everything is going wrong never forget your hope- “The natural flights of the human mind are not from pleasure to pleasure, but from hope to hope.”(Samuel Johnson) and there are different types of love and you should learn how to do not take it for granted- “LIVE every moment, LAUGH every day, LOVE beyond
