In the story, seventh grade, by Gary Soto tells the story of how one kid named Victor tries to win over the love from a girl named Teresa. He does multiple things to get her but the one that works the best was him faking knowing French. Even though Victor doesn’t know French she still believes him. So this is what starts this whole thing in seventh grade by Gary Soto. So here is Victor’s story.
During the exposition of the story Victor tries many different things to make Teresa love him. He even signs up for the same french class as her. He even tries to act like he knows french. The reader knows that Victor loves Teresa because he lies for her love. He joins the class that she is in. He even says he will tutor her.

Laurent Clerc could not speak at all before he came to the school, but there he was taught to speak. When Laurent was saying some of the words, he would get some letters mixed up. After that would happen, his speech techaer would hit him. Eventually Clerc deiced to quit speech class amd never speak again, and learn to sign. He made a promise the day he quite that he was to never use his voice again.After everything that had happened at the school, Clerc stayed at the school and taught other students first as a tutor, then wanted to be a teacher, and so he did.

Victor went to find out the murderer of his brother William. He has to cross a lake and he sees his monster standing on the bank. He immediately realizes his monster killed his brother but he allows an innocent girl to be convicted. The quote is significant because Victor knows that Justine is innocent. He allows an innocent girl to be convicted because he did not want anyone to know he unleashed a monster on the world. Along with the death of his brother, he has another death on his hands. The importance is that Victor’s monster is responsible for the death of two people and Victor has to live with that guilt. Victor “betrayed” the servant girl by not speaking up for her. Despite what many people think, Romeo and Juliet is not a love story; rather a story of desperation and obsession. People have been reading Shakespeare for hundreds of years and several people have mistaken it for a love story, due to the fact that Romeo loves Juliet so much he is willing to kill himself when he finds her supposedly dead; she does the same when she wakes up to find him dead. But in fact, Romeo is more taken aback by her beauty than he is in love with her. Juliet is intrigued by the fact someone could love her because her parents are very unsupportive of her. When the two find each other, they immediately become obsessed, mistaking this for love at first sight.
She fell in love with him as soon as she saw him for the first time, just as he did. After this she is willing to risk all she has to be with Romeo. She is a bit more cautious than Romeo, aware that their romance is forbidden. When they were on her balcony she told Romeo to be careful to not be caught by anyone of her house so he wouldn’t get in trouble. She was careful to make it sound to her mother as though it was Tybalt, who was killed, that she was crying over. She, like Romeo, was willing to act extremely in pursue of her love. When she was given the poison by Friar Laurence she states her many concerns that it would not work, but is still willing to do it, just to be with Romeo. She even states on multiple occasions that it would better she or Romeo be dead than for them to be apart. Ultimately, she does kill herself after she finds Romeo dead.
Elizabeth's role in the novel was Victor's foundation. Elizabeth would write letters to Victor, which really helped him get through many of his difficult struggles. For example Elizabeth says, "Get well and return to us. You will find a happy, cheerful home and friends who love you dearly" (98). First, let us examine the story of Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, one of the most influential writers of all time. As we know, in this famous play, two young people instantaneously fall in love in the midst of a long and bitter feud between their families. After all is said and done, Juliet's plan to fake her death is ruined and both she and Romeo end up killing themselves. The feud between the Montagues and Capulets had ended when both sides realized the pain that it had cost. The movie Shakespeare in Love was about the life of Will Shakespeare during the time that Romeo and Juliet was written. In the movie, Will is writing a play that is supposed to be a comedy. Along the way, Will encounters a woman, Viola. Will becomes enchanted with Viola and they begin to pursue a passionate love affair. Viola is an upper class, aristocratic woman with whom a marriage as already been arranged. As this affair continues, Will writes more of the play which is now turning out to be a love story that illustrates the actual events taking place in Will's life. Romeo and Juliet had become the fictional counterparts of Will and Viola. Eventually, the play is written with great success. However, Will loses Viola to her “pre-arranged” husband, but he always carries a special place in is heart for her as exemplified in his writings.
Gary Soto was born into a poor Mexican American family in Fresno, California. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford expensive clothing. It could be a big disappoint, to not have things that people want to have, especially when they can’t afford it. In “The Jacket”, he focuses on what he had to wear during his middle school years in this case his jacket. He portrays that the jacket, his mom bought him as a failure to him. He realizes that wearing the jacket made him have a rough childhood in school. As a matter of fact, growing up can be difficult because everyone is different. In my case, I remember that I too wore the same jacket for two whole school years in sixth and seventh-grade because my mom felt like I had to follow the dress code for sweaters which had to be blue. Although, I wore that sweater every day, I wouldn’t consider wearing that blue sweater a failure to me because it didn’t fail me to have good grades or great friends, but it did affect me by having some lack of confidence. There are different friendships being made and broken during the course of this play. One of which is between Romeo and Tybalt.
