This is a book called Tangerine by Edward Bloor and published by Harcourt, Inc. I chose this book because my cousin told me this was a very interesting book (and it was). An overall summary of the book is about a boy who lived in the shadow of his “perfect” older brother. By the end of the book he becomes a light outshining his brother’s shadow. This is a good book for anyone that enjoys reading. Even the protagonist and antagonist have an interesting relationship.

The protagonist is a boy named Paul Fisher. His older brother did something to Paul when they were younger that affected Paul for the rest of his life. He can’t remember what it exactly was but throughout the story he slowly remembers. Paul is also partially blind and needs his …show more content…

Since then Paul has been declared legally blind. His parents told Paul that it happened because he stared into into a solar eclipse when he was younger. The two would become friends again by the end of the story after Joey repented for what he said. Paul and Tino were close friends. Paul would come over to Tino’s tangerine grove which Tino’s family owns and grows. Paul would even stay nights over at the grove helping Tino’s family keep their grove from letting their grove freeze. Paul would befriend Kerri and Tino’s older brother Luis. Luis was a kind and peaceful person so Paul and Luis would become friends rather quickly. One day, Tino came over to Paul’s house to hang out, but Erik was there to cause trouble. Erik would beat and bully both of them. When Paul and Tino went back to the tangerine grove Luis noticed their bruises then confronted Erik. While Luis’ intentions were peaceful, Erik’s wasn’t. When the two were talking Erik’s friend Arthur snuck behind Luis and hit him in the head with a steel pipe. Few days later Luis was found dead laying in the tangerine grove. This made Kerri very
