“Cuz he’s Black” by Javon Johnson really spoke to me for many reasons. The topic of this poem can be very controversial, especially in today’s world. Racial conflicts involving police are constantly occurring; therefore, I think this poem addresses the African American side of the controversy. Therefore, that explains why an abundance of people in the news, who just happen to be black, get shot and killed by the police every day because they do not listen to them. How smart and logical does this sound? I am going to run at the police with a gun in my hand, pointed at them, and get upset when I get shot. I may be innocent, but I got what I deserved. I believe if people had more common sense, these things would not
