Stereotypes Can Harm On People

What do you do when you first meet someone? You analizy on what they look like and on they like to do. Everyone does this in their life. This is called stereotyping. Stereotypes are a harmful thing in society. Especially in a teenager’s life on where everyone judges everyone. Through my research and interview research done by my English class, the three most encountered stereotypes found were that they are White, or that they are Mexican, and that they black. With the research done I’m going to explain on how it can harm people mentally on what race they are from. These top three stereotypes can cause a whole lot of harm on people because of what they do or act. By this making them think that they can’t really be themselves. When you meet someone new you immediately make an assumption on what race they look like. Not even trying out to see what their preferences of doing and likings are because of they mindset you have on their race. Like for example, if you see a Mexican you must assume that he likes soccer. Or if you see a White person you might assume that he/she must like Starbucks. Also, when you see a darked skin person you assume that they aren’t that very intelligent. This is because it makes you feel uncomfortable with being the person you really are. Like for example, if you are Mexican and people say that he must be really good at soccer but in fact you know you aren’t. They are making assumptions from the race you come from. Another example is if you were white people would think and say that you must have really nice and expensive things. They would make that assumption because of the things they would probably have or wear. A final example is that if you were a dark skinned person other would make assumptions that you are a bad person because on they way you dress or
