Sports are a great way to bring people together and encourage friendly competition among people from all walks of life. In general, a sport is usually some form of physical game or activity performed by two or more people. One such example would be golf, often dubbed the "rich man 's sport" throughout its history. Golf has undergone many changes since its creation in the early 15th century, but has remained one of the more expensive sports as far as equipment costs go. When discussing the impact that different technological advancements in the materials used in golf have had, I 'm mainly looking at how these adjustments have improved performance.

This ball was still very hard and compact though, and proved to have better flight capabilities than its wooden predecessor. However, it was very expensive to make due to the difficulty of the process, and only a few could be made in a day. They proved to be the ball of choice for the next 200 years until the Gutta Perch ball was created from tree sap.
This tree sap was a rubber-like material, and could be shaped through heat treatment. The Gutta Perch balls were cheaper to make and more durable than the feathery balls.
Up until this point, all the golf balls that were created had been made with a smooth, rounded surface. But the Gutta Perch balls had a strange phenomenon occur when they began to wear down and get chips and defects on the surface. They actually became more accurate and flew in a straighter line at this point. This is due to the aerodynamics on the ball, which is comprised of two elements, lift and drag. Lift pushes golf balls upwards in the air, whereas drag creates a force against the direction the ball travels. Small depressions on the ball 's surface, such as chips/ defects on a Gutta Perch and the dimples on modern balls you see today, create a layer of smooth flowing air turbulence around the ball that decreases drag. This has helped it to become one of today 's most popular sports. The golf world has embraced the progression of the golf ball, and has yet to deem any particular ball unfair or unethical. Nothing has actually made a game-changing impact on ball technology since the invention of the rubber core, only minor improvements on a model that works well.
All the golf balls I 've ever used are obviously modern balls, so I 've never seen firsthand how much of a difference today 's golf balls make over golf balls from previous centuries. However, I have noticed that after using a golf ball for an extended period of time it begins to get small defects in it from wear and tear which affect the flight pattern. This is of course due to changes in the lift and drag on the ball. Even the slightest alterations drastically change the way air flows around its surface.

To start off, Now, we come to the tee-box where we put our stretching and breathing into effect creating the positive mentality, followed by a few quick practice swings. In the 1990's, Callaway introduced yet another new line of woods that featured the S2H2 design with an oversize head. Compared to "an oversize tennis-racket for golfers," the Big Bertha driver, which was named for a World War I cannon, permitted straighter shots on off-center hits. Pro golfers were impressed with the feel and distance they got from the club, and by the end of the 1992 golf season, the Big Bertha driver was ranked Number 1 on the Senior PGA, the LPGA and the Hogan tours. Callaway Golf was now well on its way to achieving a reputation for producing forgiving clubs that helped lower scores.
In 1982, Ely Reeves Callaway had bought his small wedge and putter golf business and called it Hickory Stick USA and created clubs that were enjoyable for the average golfer. He called these clubs the Demonstrably Superior and Pleasingly Different (DSPD) clubs. This was a code he had always lived by. The family of Ely Callaway are not involved with the company today because he was told to choose his successor, and had chose Ron Draqpeau. He is a man who only shared the same vision and thought of golf, but also had the skills as a leader to continue his wonderful golf company. The goal was to make a good product and tell the truth about the game. In those days Ely would provide them to his customers personally in the back of his Cadillac.
