What year NASSM started?
NASSM stands for North American Society for Sport Management. According to its official website, this society was founded on October 4, in 1985 in order to support and assist professionals working in the fields of sport, leisure and recreation (NASSM, 2016).
It all started On September 20, 1985 at the insistence of Earle F. Zeigler, Robert Boucher, Janet Parks, and Beverly Zanger had a meeting in Windsor, Ontario in order to gather “a group of sport management academicians in order to identify common needs and concerns.” (NASSM, 2016). Then, they invited colleagues from other American and Canadian sport management to join them and “by October 4, from these discussion group, the North American Society for Sport Management was founded” (NASSM, 2016). By December 16, others with common interests joined the society and “selected Kent State University for the first NASSM conference” (NASSM, 2016).

4. List the steps you will take in preparing for the job fair.
First, I will check the start time of job fair in order to arrive early.
Second, I will research the companies that are going to be in the job fair. This is one of most important steps, first impression is very important.
Third, I would dress according to the occasion, in this case I would set aside professional clothing. Again, first impression in job fairs are crucial.
Fourth, I will have prepare my elevator speech, since during job fairs one will not have a lot of time
Fifth, I will print out copies of my resume, many of them in order to be prepare.
Last but not least, I will have a list of question ready. Due to the lack of time in job fairs, it would be for the best if I have prepare what I want to ask them
INTRODUCTION Racial diversification has become one of the many objectives of several sport organizations throughout the world. In New Zealand for instance, we have many parks, sports clubs, and recreations that are accessible to everybody, regardless of their ethnicity. However, on the other side of the spectrum, there are a few sports organizations in New Zealand, which only allows certain ethnic groups to be a part of it. In other words, racial discrimination remains as a plague in the sporting institution (Armstrong, 2011).
In any movement by a marginalized social group to gain equal rights and recognition, there are always several factions with differing opinions of the best way to achieve the common goal. There are those who choose to work within the rules of the system as is it is already structured by the dominant social group, and there are those who choose to create their own branch, rewriting the rules to represent their own philosophies. Historically, women's athletics have been led by the second camp; by women who demanded a philosophy of sport with a vision unique from that of men?s athletics. Women's athletics remained, much like women as a social group, in its own separate sphere, leading its own organizational structure. But as the women's sphere was de-mystified (Spears, 1978) in the mid twentieth century, autonomous organizational structures were absorbed under the umbrella of formerly exclusively male athletics. This is the case as illustrated by the merger of the AIAW and the NCAA.

Practice with family, practice with friends; practice with a professional, practice by yourself, but just make sure you practice. The reason for practicing is important, because working on the fly during an interview will ultimately lead to disaster for most. As time progresses, watching and supporting sports is becoming more and more popular as a main source of entertainment. Many people have found ways to connect their jobs with their passion of sports. “The multibillion-dollar sports industry offers employment opportunities for management, marketing, and supervisory professionals at all levels of competition” (Sports Management 1). Depending on a person’s interests, there are jobs in professional, amateur, and even school sports. Once a person decides on a sport management career, it needs to be determined which area he or she more specifically wants to go into based on his or her interests and abilities.
This interview helped me gain an excellent idea about a real interview situation. I took this opportunity seriously as I knew that this might be the only situation where I could judge myself before facing a real interview. Therefore I prepared myself to be as professional as possible. I believe I was right on selecting my dress, as my team member Nathan Copey said,
To be better prepared you should bring extra copies of your resume. You never know who all will be doing the interview process, and it would look very great to have copies prepared so that everyone could look over your resume if they would like. Having a reference list ready with names, organizations, and phone numbers will reflect greatly on your effort in being prepared. Knowing what type of interview you will be attending will help you prepare for what kind of questions you will be asked, and what kind of things you will be asked to do. Sometimes, the employer will interview you in a group with others and ask you situational interview questions, depending on the position you are applying for. In this case, you would need to be prepared to answer questions in front of others and not just one-on-one with the hiring manager. Researching situational interview questions and preparing real life responses will help during your interview.
