The purpose of us using the Solid works Program was to design parts such as a propeller for an underwater vehicle. Starting off by making parts such as a wrench helped build the fundamental skills we needed in order to design the propeller. Before actually following through with the steps, our group had to do research on how propellers work and the different of propellers. At the end of this project we will have a fully functional propeller for an underwater vehicle. Procedures The process of designing a propeller can be made a simple take if one pays close attention to the directions. To start, Solid Works must be downloaded on a computer that supports it. To start, you must use a right plane sketch and draw 3 …show more content…

The size will be change when you assign the dimension to 350mm for the first line draw( bottom line). The second line will be 80mm and the length of the third line is 200 mm. Then, close the shape with a spline, click the on the line and make it “horizontal.” After that, click on “Revolve Boss/Base” under Features. Click the line that will be the axis(the line that was first drawn) and click on the green check mark and select top plane, normal, and 3 point corner rectangle. Then draw it from left to right going down diagonally and assign the bottom dimension 12mm and the long side 230mm. The distance from the top to the bottom will be 225mm and the angle at 74 degrees and exit from the sketch. Next choose top plane, normal and chose top plane under “Reference geometry” and click on top plane. Under sketch click click top plane and again click on 3 point corner rectangle and to the same except this rectangle will have a long side at 400mm, 190mm away from the bottom, 62mm going outwards on the right side from the middle, at 14 degrees and click exit sketch. Click Lofted boss/bass and select the center point, and the corner point in the bottom left, and click the check mark and mack the filet 135mm, click
