What I learned about my socialization experience with regard to the Buddhism social identity group I studied is that I had preconceived notions about them. Prior to learning more about Buddhism community, my Christian faith had socialized me to believe Buddhism was wrong and an abomination to God. My Christian faith has taught me to believe in only one God; that is God the son, God the father and God the Holy Spirit. I had the presumption that a Buddhist person does not believe in the Almighty God and is also a form of idol worshipper and cannot be trusted. Buddhist teaching contradicts that of the Bible as they do not believe in Jesus Christ. For this reasons, I was afraid to associate with Buddhist people, for fear others might think, I was a Buddhist person as well …show more content…
